if your choosing to jig, do you cruise around until you mark them?? ive never jigged for trout before, I used to downrig with my grandfather many moons ago, but never jigged because never could really figure out how guys picked spots to start

Hey guys I'm looking to do some lake trout fishing later this summer with downrigers in charleston, from people I've talked to my best bet is to run spoons, just wondering what sizes I should use, at the store I've seen them anywhere from 8" to 1"

Went out on the river this morning for perch an pike, these were the biggest of the perch I caught, was out 8-11.. For favourite river id have to say st.lawrence, it's where I learned to fish, and it rarely disapoints no matter what time of year, and I've even had a suprise brown trout out of prescott/maitland area.. Went out on the st.lawrence this morning an got into some jumbo perch, kept a few of the larger ones, 12-15 up through the ice in 3hrs fished, the perch stayed around until the pike would cruise through, there was 8" of black ice in about 12-15' of water

Yah that's what I thought about charelston, I'm new to the ice scene, just try and pick the brain of anyone when I can, and I've heard lots of stories of guys walking out into the big waters and fishing 70' down but again this was long ago

does anyone know where I can grab minnows this winter, I come out of Brockville and fish the river landons bay area mostly and sometimes kemptville for the ice season, looking to see if anyone knows a local place that I can grab minnows
