Re: 4 weeks to go!

We'll be on the St.Lawrence fishing for Largies in the AM although there's always Smallies in the same spots at the start of the season. I can't wait, we'll be fishing in people's front yards...Topwater I hope!

Looks like GongShow fishing, my kind of fishing shamrocks & shenanigans! Did you catch any Crappie on the crank bait? Always fun open water tossing for the Craps!
Good stuff.

Re: I'm a carp newbie

Not sure what your using for bait or where your fishing them. You can use simple frozen corn, hook some kernels onto your hook cast out & chum around your hook with more corn. This method has produced lots of Carp for me.

Re: St Lawrence conditions

Word on the River is the dam in Iroquois is open for how long who knows but should lower the water level a bit West of the dam. Folks coming & launching from Prescott or Jtown should follow the main channel to Cardinal & not travel in the dark.

I'd drive the Chanel till you get to wherever you're going which I assume Cardinal. The ships are good for keeping the Chanel clear. I'm...
