In the past I have found that using small spoons such as little cleos have worked very well and also Mepps spinners with worm on the hook!

Yeah the one in Kemptville was put on by the local boy scouts or something like that I think! Does anyone know if the Kemptville Fishing Derby is on this year?? Its usually on the May long weekend and is for pike and walleye I believe! I havent entered in about 5 years so I dont even know if they still hold it!
