Walleye Opener

So ... the opener is just a weekend (or so) away. Since I normally would be fishing for pike on that weekend, I would like to enhance my knowledge by learning how to catch a walleye or two. I`m not asking for locations, just looking for something that catches fish ...bait or general location ... I f...

White Lake

Does anyone know where I can get a good hydrographic map of White Lake?

Thanks.

Possible New Forum

I know it's a lot of work for the guys running the board, but what does the Fish-Hawk community think of asking for a Muskie Fishing Forum? I know that I would love one just on Musikie because I fish for them 90% of the time. And as anyone who hunts these things knows, you can never get too much inf...

The Purpose of this Forum

The note under "Fishing Talk" is as follows: "This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations." I was one of the first to join this site (I use to access it regularly before they start...

Marc is a longtime guide on the Ottawa ... ask him yourself about using a gaff.

I'm sure he'd be happy to reply.

Ordering Fishing Stuff From the US

I'm looking for information from some of you who have purchased items from US stores like Bass Pro or Cabelas. When you order the items, is there much duty to be paid? I've heard that sometimes the shipping will cost more thah the items if it is sent by courrier. Anybody have any tips for getting it...

It's a little late now, but maybe you could start a club or workshop or something for next winter. I've always been interested in creating my own lures. Getting some hands on experience with someone who has done this in the past would be fun. We could work on spinners and crank baits, with the bass/...

There's a small launch on the north side of the river, about 1 km west of the boat yard. It's at the end of the first road you will come to on the left heading west on the road to Burritt's Rapids.

I've never used it and it looks like it is only accessable to smaller boats.

Here we go again ... this happens on every board. I have never tried to make anyone feel guilty about keeping a fish, although I came close on the "Rideau Monster". Here's my take: Why does anyone need to mount a fish? Is it just to show the world what a great angler you are? More often th...

If it's a rotating strike and I know in advance that "the pasture" is the target, I'll be back on the Rideau for some lungehunting.

After being my photog this weekend, I owe you a trip, so keep in touch and we can do some hunting together.

Get you in shape for the 30th :D

To be 40 lbs, the fish would have to have at least a 27 inch girth ... one fat lady! Would love to see a pic.

I wouldn't mind learning some of the Wendover spots. Would need a not "too windy" day though.

Musky Baits - What's you choice

OK Guys and Gals ... it's September and we are expecting the big fish to start turning on any day now. Of course for HW they already have :D So, what's your "go to" bait in the fall? This may be a topic of interest for those who are anticipating the Musky Hunt in October. Fishing the Ridea...

There should be a link on the Boat Launch site to send the info directly to John who maintains the site.
