If you're anywhere near Ottawa, make the trip to Gatineau and visit Brabant Phillips. They sell them by the pound.

Each year I buy 1.5 pounds for my trip to the Gouin for the season opener. 6 guys and we go through them all. Nothing beats leeches for pike and walleye.

just to clear things up... I'm a dude. This is my gaming nickname... You may see me online if you play First-person shooters.

Might try wetting a line at long island locks anyway, if I can get close to the water.

Would Billings Bridge be any good?

Cheers!

Long Island locks on the Rideau

HI All,

I'm hoping to go out crappie fishing on the weekend. Does anyone know if the ice is out at the Long Island Locks? Is there another good spot I can hit (25 minutes driving from downtown Ottawa, any direction)?

I checked Petrie today and that's out of the question...

Thanks

but i've caught fish 100% of the time on one outing...but I had to pay-by-the-inch...

I can let you all in on the spot too... no problem!

Hi, I had a 2000 Sierra pickup with the same motor and NO Towing Package, and was able to tow a 1989 Ford Taurus Wagon without any problems. I'm sure a boat and trailer wouldn't be a problem... I would only worry about breaking/stopping. THe short wheel base on the Jimmy might cause you to jacknife....

Where is this Ruisseau de la Brasserie? Where's the best place to park your car?
