Nation River

I generally head there in the spring to fish for catfish and carp in the Plantangenet area. Also get the occasional walleye. The catfish there are, on average, bigger than the Ottawa river ones. Is there any good pike fishing to be had on that river? Or any other gamefish for that matter? What are s...

I find that shallow rocky spots with a slight current produce well, but only after sunset. By shallow, I mean anywhere from 1/2 - 10 feet.

I have a few questions that maybe you guys can answer......

1. how many tipups are you allowed to set up in addition to your rod?

2. what's a 'deadstick' rod?

3. any good beginer ice spots arround the city?

thanx 8)

I'm not sure if this is true, but i read in the 'Fishing Guide to Eastern Ontario', that White Lake is also stocked with splake on a yearly basis. Anyone know if this is true? I've never caught one there and havn't heard of anyone else getting one either...... MonsterRelease, is there some muskie in...

Yah, I'd never caught a smallie in white lake before this year. This year I've caught quite a few... and in the strangest of places... Caught most of them fishing for largemouth - right on shore. That one, I caught just outside of eggshape bay, in about 20 ft of water. Ahah! So you too fish the pic...

I love white lake.
Always plenty of pike along the deeper weed beds and some of the best largemouth fishing I've ever done!!! :D

Where did you get the smallie? I never caught one there.

Any size to the walleye?
not really...
Biggest one was about 2 pounds. Perfect eating size though. I imagine that spot should hold some decent size fish earlier in the year when walleye first opens.

Bridge at the Manotic Mill

I was there last night from 8 to 11 pm and I landed 4 walleye, 3 crappie, and a ridiculus number of rock bass (I lost count). I also had either a pike or a muskie grab my minnow, but he spet it out before I could get a good hookset. Everything I caught was either on a minnow, or a white 4inch walley...
