Has no one used carbon line for ice fishing? I was hoping to go buy new line tomorrow morning.
Are there no "OTHER GUYS" out there that know the answer?

Are there any downfalls to F-carbon line for hard water?

I'm thinking of making the switch this year from a lighter mono to a little bit heavier fluro-carbon.(i don't even know how to spell it)I haven't even used it for soft water fishing yet. All last year, if i'm using light line and there's a pike within a 2 mile radius... let's just say, I'm fed up of...

Wow McQ, this topic's got some meat to it. I read it yesterday and have been thinking of this subject since. (I woke up thinking about it) I was born and raised in Northern Ontario but have lived in Ottawa for about 5 years now. As with Eddie, I'm 25 years old and have been an extreemly active fishe...

I almost forgot... This will be my 8th winter in my current pair, and they'll hold up for a few more.(and it's certainly not from lack of use)
My last pair was around 5 years when I got a little too close to our fire. Shore lunch looked too good that day.

I'd recommend good old fashion Sorels. I'd also buy a second set of liners. Even if you get a soaker(or two) you can throw a plastic bag over the new liners and you're back to jiggin'. I'd also recommend a pair of those "wick away" socks. You'll know you're looking at the right kind of soc...

Hey Joco, This is a funny topic for me, I've been debating the opposite for the last 6 months. Should I buy a boat and stop fishing from my canoe? I've never owned a boat, I've only been using a canoe for the last 20 years. Reading this thread, I think I'll stay with the canoe for one more season. T...

As embarrasing as it is, I will admit that my good fishing buddy and I have each been charged once with a fishing offence. I was stopped at a "Fish R.I.D.E" program and was charged with improper cleaning of a fish.(still within my limit) two days later, my buddy was charged steelhead fishi...

Hey Jebby, Congrats again on finding something you like. I'm not sure of everything that's needed, I'll try and get a more complete list soon but here's some of the things I remember... -Windshield/ windows intact -tires have tread (I believe at least 1.5-3mm tread,NOT 100% sure) -bumpers, -doors,ho...

I lived in Sault Ste. Marie until about 5 years ago. I used to spend hours on the St. Mary's river. I heard a tip since I left and havn't tried it yet. (You guys have probably heard of it) I was told to mix a few artificial eggs in with the roe. I guess it makes the bag float off the bottom a little...
