Re: Zone 12 Slot Size
I agree RJ. One thing that it needs to work is to be followed. I have a cottage on Black Lake near Perth and I can assure you that none of the locals on the lake follow the slot for FMZ 18, and most fish setlines they leave in front of their houses, although there aren't many walleye left there. No...

Re: Quebec Canoe Tripping
Hi Shawn,
Thanks for the reply. Looks like a beautiful lake and have heard it's a great lake to paddle. Unfortunately like 31 Mile Lake it's $40 per tent in low season and $50 a night in high season to camp on the islands.

Quebec Canoe Tripping
Hi all, With the sun here, this is the time of year I pull out the backroads mapbook and start planning camping and canoe trips for the spring and summer. This year, my goal is to focus on camping places that I don't have to pay in Quebec. The rules out 31 Mile Lake, ZECs and Papineau Labelle. Any s...

Re: Zone 12 Slot Size
Hi Doug,
The slot runs until June 15th during the open season of course. Surprisingly that isn't an error. It's the max size with no minimum. Not a huge fan of the slot as I enjoy eating walleye but it's good for the river as lots of big fish are caught around opener and befor the season closes.

Zone 12 Slot Size
Hi all,
Just a friendly reminder to those that fish in zone 12 that the slot (max 40cm 15.7 inches) for walleye is in effect until March 31. Tight lines!!

Hopefully it didn't taste like something that has been living in a toilet bowl for 13 years!

Re: Reserve Faunique de Papineau Labelle
I've done a fair bit of fishing in Papineau Labelle, although I don't fish there anymore. The brook trout fishing is excellent, but I've found fishing just as good and better outside the park in Quebec and in Upstate New York. IMO it's not worth the price. It's more of a Brook Trout are than it is a...

Re: Shirley's Bay road closed
Can confirm, road is a mess but there were some snowmobile tracks. Got an 18 and two 14 inchers and a few dinks. Bite is still good, another beautiful sunset tonight too! Was surprised how few people were out there tonight

Re: Shirley's Bay road closed
Road is still closed, lots of drifts out there. Didn't see any cars out today. 2 walleye and 2 sauger tonight, biggest was 12 inches. Seems like there are more dinks this year than in the past. Damn it was a cold walk out to the shack tonight!

Re: Shirley's Bay Derby 2015
Thanks for sharing the results! Sounds like a slow day of fishing but a fun time had by all. I've definitely been seeing more Ling around this year and more small walleye and sauger around than usual (6-10 inch).

Ice Shack Towing Shirley's Bay
Hi all, I built a shack (6x10) and I'm looking to put it out on the ice this weekend. I have a trailer and can get it to the launch, but don't have confidence that I'll be able to get it on the ice with my vehicle. I will pay anyone who is willing to tow it out from the launch to the ice or can nego...
