Your opinion on St.Lawerence and Lake Ontario water levels
The IJC (International Joint Commision) is inviting feed back for 90 days on proposed water level management for the ST.Law. and Lake Ontario. I can tell you that the water levels on the Larry east of Cornawall by the end of June drop quite substantial. When I say substantial I would say 2-4ft maybe...

On the Americain side of the St.Lawerence you can have beer in your boat and even have one as a driver when parked but you must remain under legal limit for NY.state. I don't care for the rule that you can't have a beer or a drink while ice fishing. What about the people who live on lakes or rivers ...

The ministry should cull some of these birds. I've been around the St.Lawerence river for 25yrs and can tell you the cormorant populations seem to be at an all time high! They sit on any island where fishing is good, sometimes a good way to locate potentail hotspots. They not only eat a lot of fish ...

The St.Lawerence river holds a ton of pike although some times wind dictates where you fish if you want quainty with a chance at some decent size. Theres a few places I know of where you can always fish pike and catch em. The Ottawa river is also good but maybe a bit more busier than the old ST.Lawe...

The boat launch is open in Cardinal and the canal leading to the main channel is also, for sure was there today. The water in the canal looked deeper than the end of the summer level.I drove from Prescott and the river is open Prescott to Cardinal and looking towards Morrisburg I couldn't see any ob...

The launch is open in Cardinal but the docks have been pulled out, so you would just have to launch with someone in the boat. It could be shallow there though not sure if theres ice there in the canal or not, pretty fast water. I'll be in that area in the next couple of days, i'll check launches out...

Last week I was ice fishing near Prescott when 2 guys in a boat pulled up they said they launched out of Brockville at the old courthouse launch just off water street. They were heading to Johnstown to catch Pike. I launched there Nov.30 and the water was still deep compared to the rest of the launc...

The new reg.'s really don't affect me as I now mostly fish bass on the St.Lawerence and don't use live bait unless its for tip ups or worms for mud pout. I've been around the St.Lawerence my whole life both sets of grandparents lived on it and my parents. I've never seen a MNR officer once in my lif...
