Re: Ice Fishing Perth Area
Awesome fish! Love the multi-species (and kinda jealous of that great kitchen sink!!! I love that style but couldn't fit it in my own kitchen).

Re: Old fishing ice spots
Funny that you mention Pinhey's Point - a buddy and I tried that a few times last year, it was our first time trying it. Caught nothing on any of the trips. Maybe we were doing something wrong. Buckhams and Constance bays remain good go-to spots for us.

Re: Bottom bouncer info
There are clip on bottom bouncers that work quite well at Cabela's, so you can put them anywhere on your line. I do like to run a longer amount behind the bouncer if using a bouyant lure such as a spin n glo

Re: millhaven creek browns
You can also reach further up the creek if you park by the leigon and walk along the fence line to reach the creek I know this thread is a few years old, but FYI - The private propery behind the legion has put up big No Trespassing signs and cleared the whole area from their house to the creek. The...

Re: Lake Ontario Salmon
I have landed a couple salmon in my Kayak... they pull you all over the place before you can finally get them in the boat! An absolute blast! I have never caught an Atlantic though, that's on my bucket list! I am also still looking for the 30lber, biggest so far was 26lbs. Hard to find much bigger a...

Re: river access question
I do it all the time. Sometimes there are restrictions on how close to a bridge you can park due to safety, but that's it.
I have also found that, in general, people are really friendly to kayakers.

Re: Fishing during outbreak?
I called the City of Ottawa line today and they echoed the NCC agent's response. City parks are closed, but if you can get to the water from NCC land then you are ok. Still keep away from others however... but that opens up a lot of water in this area.. and i cant think of a better way to stay away...

Re: Fishing during outbreak?
Hey Folks, I actually called and spoke with an NCC agent this morning (wish I took down her name...). I asked specifically about NCC land (Ottawa River) and using it to solo fish from the shore/bank. She said they are allowing fishing, as long as those fishing are practicing social distancing, and ...

Re: Fishing during outbreak?
Need to be careful in Ottawa as NCC property and parks are all closed to fishing (it is considered an "individual activity"). Fines and warnings have been issued. but, there are a few spots you can still go such as previous poster mentioned, private property, sides of the road, sailing clu...

Re: Ling on or near the Ottawa
I have certianly caught some big ones (28 inches plus) at Shirleys, although for some reason my luck with them the last two years has been terrible... not sure what I am doing wrong, but i have certainly lost my touch...
