If you bring the dogs they need to be leashed (lots of Parks Canada personel around that could fine you for having them off leash) ... BUT... there's a (dog) park not far from the locks.

Anyone who wants to join me this Sunday (4:30pm - whenever) at the locks in Manotick is welcome. I thought I'd dig out my little grill for a BBQ and maybe bring the wife and the boy (maybe even the dog). Just so you know, the weather forecast is for showers... if the weather gets to nasty I'll post ...

Anyone up for a shorefishing outing at the Long Island locks in Manotick this weekend. Bringing the wife (or husband) and kids is welcome. Fishing locations are: at or around the locks, from the docks, at or around the dam. Lots of picnic tables for BBQs etc *. There's a park with a playground down ...

Yep that was me. Didn't have much luck there... pike 4-5 pounder.

Went to the locks at Long Island this morning for little fishing from shore. Spent some time exploring the back channel and caught a couple of smallies, nothing big though. Before leaving I decided to cast a few at the base of the lower locks. I had a shallow diving crankbait already tied to my line...

Oops... it looks like Sunday morning is a bust. My wife already made (my) plans for Sunday morning so maybe I'll head over there in the late afternoon or early evening... or even on Saturday.

Wow... looks nice. I haven't been up that way in over 20 years. I'll have to put it on my "Must Visit" list. I wanted to do a canoe trip up there but I think the wife and kid might go for Ellen Island.

Sorry, I've been a bit busy the last few days. Was driving a red Saturn Vue... but I didn't get there til around 5:30. This Sunday morning I'm heading to Manotick for a couple of hours of fishing. Anyone who wants to can PM me if they want to join me.

Sorry that I missed you guys there... I figured you might have split given how crazy busy it was :shock: . I fished up and down the river at a couple of spots after leaving the locks didn't have much luck, only a couple of pike. I'm into trying again at a new location. Maybe the river in/near Carlet...
