Re: Open water fishing...
I had to cancle my ice trip this winter so I'm looking forward to spring trout. I'm looking at the middle of April. With the way the temps are right now I feel pretty good about that time frame but several folks have suggested moving it to May. I'm driving quite a way 12 hours so I would like to ha...

Re: float tube question
Did have a loon go zooming by just under my arse once. that would be intense for sure. they have pretty sharp pointy bills on em' there was one bright sunny day on the berm across Calabogie lake that i was privileged enough to have my polarized on and see a loon swim through the break as i ...

Re: where's all the trout gone?
Not preaching here, but an open forum isn't the best place to brag about breaking the law. since when can you not fish with two lines in fmz 18. this is news to me and thank you for letting me know  ((Hooks and Lines – An angler may use only one line, unless otherwise stated in the re...

Re: where's all the trout gone?
One in particular I can think of that I doubt you could even get into with a quad now used to produce beauty Specks over five pounds if you knew the right spot on the lake to fish. I have no doubt that they're still in that one. Cheers these hidden lakes and gems are the legends of Lanark. Getting ...

Re: where's all the trout gone?
There is actually a lake out this way called paddy's lake. At one point in time it was stocked with rainbows by the mnr and a dam was built to separate the marsh and the lake to keep all those razor toothed pike out :) well from what i've been told through stories of old locals out this way, a group...

Re: where's all the trout gone?
do some serious damage to the smallmouth fishery in the area's rivers and streams. too many smallies....too little recipes.. these pesky fall fish as well. if more people would use them as pike/musky/walleye bait it just may lower the population, but i doubt it. these pesky minnows are everyw...

Re: where's all the trout gone?
You will always have mediocre Brook trout fishing with year round fishing and liberal harvest. i completely agree with you, but i cant help but wonder if there's bohemiths swimming around in the depths of some of these lakes. once the breeders are spent at the hatchery, what do they do with them? d...

beaver dams
for a few years now i've been on the hunt for browns and bows in the clyde\south branch clyde. my question is,...how likely is it for stocked browns and bows to jump beaver dams if they aren't known to reproduce? do they still have the migratory instinct? any answers would be of great help, thanks
