Another deer season has come and gone. This was our 6th season hunting out of the the camp since we built it in 2011. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm180/camphellbear/Hunting%202016/2016%20deer-005_zpsh9bmgddn.jpg We ran our usual sites, but made one major change this year. We normally hunt out...

Re: Fall 2016, Hits & Misses!!
Great season! Enjoyed reading about your hunt. Congrats on your, great chevron on that fella. You'll enjoy the meat. The "smell" is just one of many myths about bears. They are the best wild game meat out there....well, maybe second to elk. lol Great to see you enjoyed the season to the fu...

Holding off during those early morning minutes are always a good indicator of the ethics in a hunter. Good stuff bud....a lot cant control themselves before legal time.

Re: Bear Season @ the HellBear
CBB, the only thing we chase with hounds is bunnies and i havent done that in a long time. I do love watching dogs work upland birds too.
Out4trout, the drought was brutal on the berries and it made for a short season for day activity with bears. They went nocturnal faster then expected this year.

Re: Bear Season @ the HellBear
I picked up another bear this morning. Bear snaring season opened Oct 1st and i had one remote site that had a dozen or so bears visiting it and none taken from there. There were no cubs either, so I thought it would be a great spot for a snare set up. Got it all set up on Saturday afternoon. Checke...

Cheers Smitty, The Bears East forum migrated to FB. Like many websites, it just lost the battle with the FB movement. I currently dont keep an...
