There are indeed signs from the highway...Two actually so if you miss the first turn off that takes you through town along the river, there is a second one taking you straight down the road that the ramp is on. I have never actually launched there, just fished from the docks, but I didn't see anyone...

I purchased a Nautlius marine battery charger from Canadian tire and it has served me well for all my 12V charging needs. It can be switched to charge both Deep cycle, and cranking batteries. I have also used it to recharge dead automotive batteries. I purchased mine probably about 12 years ago, but...

unless the rules have changed this year from last, I had a conversation with a PQ Game warden while fishing from an island which was apparently on the PQ side of the Ottawa river last spring. He said it is a neutral body of water as long as you don't go up any of the smaller rivers onto the PQ side.

Just wondering, for the few times when people catch a muskie of any size that for whatever reason can not be revived, and apparently are terrible table fare.... Do you still eat it or can it be given to the MNR for studies.... Have yet to even catch a muskie but wondering what would be the best plan...

Hey Almonte, Yep, definitly Sturgeon up there, although they are not the same monster stergeon you see in the Mid-west/Westcoast I've accidently hooked into a couple in pembroke, but on the light tackle I was using at the time they both broke me off. Not sure how big they do get, but I would estimat...

Kpin, At my cottage all the pumpkinseed/sunfish I catch are riddled with those black skin parasites as well. Literally too many to begin to count. I don't think it's your personal bad luck, just the body of water you are fishing. But I think that they along with rockbass are much more suseptible(sp?...

Lak'er, I believe the cost is somewhere between $50 - $70 for the season, a weekend pass is over 2/3 of the ull year cost. ( don't quote me cause this info was from a few years back) I am not 100% sure about ice fishing, I suppose you could however you would have to snowshoe, or snowmobile in as the...

Joco beat me to the spot, The place I was mentioning is the same as Joco just said, Le Petite Lac... It's a private group of people who stock 3 or 4 small lakes with trout each year. It is right beside my cottage, on Lac sinclair. If you take the right onto Chemin Fournier after Masham, instead of g...
