I was at my hunting camp near Kirkland for the whole week after T-giving. We didn't have a moose tag and given the lay of the land there, calf hunting is pretty much impossible so we stuck to birds. We were supposed to have a bumper year over there but the rain really wreaked havoc on the nesting. So where the birds could nest we saw lots. Lots of flocks of 3, 4 or even 5 birds. Found a flock of 6 twenty feet behind the outhouse, sniped 4 with an old open sight single shot Cooey .22. Muskie (my dog) flushed the first one into the tree, I started cleaning it before I spotted the other ones. Great times.
.
Good luck to all the deer hunters!
Tight lines and hot barrels,
Yannick
