Bow hunting - Stalking

Post by Joe28 »

I'm wondering how many poeple have been successful bow hunting and stalking a deer as opposed to sitting in a deer stand and waiting?

In the past I caught two deers stalking. My method was walk 5 minutes, sit 45 minutes.

I had to change area (change of landowner). So the new place is limited in size. I'll use my tree-climber, but when I want to stretch my legs, I'll do a little stalking (haven't yet had success doing this on new property. But I love, as you might say, "the chase".

Stalking has definately paid off for me and is the most challenging.
There is nothing more fun than going in "old indian style" :D
It really helps if you can move through the bush VERY quietly, also stopping and listening alot is crucial. Hunting in an area that has alot of deer helps alot too
