My First...

Post by Birdee »

Took up hunting this season after many of my fishing friends hunt and they guided me through it. Having 4 acres of property with lots of known Deer activity allowed me to have my better half build me a permanent blind.

We bought a trail camera and have literally hundreds of photos. Many bucks around but one was the king of the castle!

I had an encounter with that big boy. I'll knock him down next year!

Spent many evenings in the stand and while seeing deer they weren't within comfortable range with the bow.

Until about a week ago....

My first of many! I'm hooked on the hunt, the meat is the added bonus.

congrats on the nice deer. The first one is one you will always remember and its especially great when it was a very tough year for most hunters. The big one will give you something to look forward to next year, hes a very nice deer. Funny how the big boys always show up in the middle of the night, I guess they dont get big for no reason.

I really enjoyed following Birdee's progress until the ultimate evening of her first.....the trail cam was an awesome deal....we had a clue there were deer around our place of course....but the amount...and the quality surprised me....

I plan to build her at least one other stand to give her options....as for me?...nah...this is her thing....I'll stick to fish....they are easier to clean...
