Hi,

I'm looking for advice on hunting cameras. The most important feature for me is the distance the sensor will pick up and the quality of the picture. I am looking at units with IR flash and 5Megpixels and above. Any suggestions as to places with good prices would be appreciated

I have a Spypoint in the IR-C model, very good quality pictures with the 8 megpix.It is very easy to use and it is made in Canada.If I knew how to post pics I could show you some.If you go to there website you can see lots of pics.I think mine was around $400 with a rechargable battery and charger a little pricey but worth it

Another very useful tool for following habits, is date and time stamp. Cuts down your time in the field

DO NOT buy the cheapest and look for expandable SD slots that will take at least a 2gig card.

Well I'll throw out the Moultrie I-40. The camera I have is 4 MP but takes decent quality pics and video (something I've yet to do but I know at least 3 people who have used the video feature). The nice thing is you don't break the bank on them as you can get them for $179 on sale occassionally at Bass Pro, otherwise they're usually around $225.

The camera takes pics up to 40 feet for sure that I know of but it is rated to 50 ft.

Just make sure you lock her up good.. I've heard way too many stories of cameras being stolen. I dont think I could sleep leaving a 400$ camera in the woods.. Good luck either way

I have just placed an order for several different models of game cameras including a Stealth Cam I-540IR, a Wildview EZ CAm, Moultrie Game Spy I-40 and Cuddleback Capture. Prices will range from about $175 - $350 once they arrive so something in every price range. Should be in by the middle of August. As well, if there is something particular you decide on I would be happy to quote you a price. Just give me a call at the store or email me.

Thanks for the offer Crystal. I purchased and installed a Moultrie I-60 and am quite happy with it. If I see a need for another, I'll let you know.
