I am yet to see someone de-shoulder a gun to pump it, well, anyone who has any experience with one.

In my opinion, just my opinion, I would suggest looking at something that will chamber 3.5 inch shells. You may not need it but if you have it then you have it in case you want to use it. Not so much with ducks but with geese I find the 3.5 inch shells help.

field hunting

If you plan on doing a lot of field hunting go with a semi-auto as i find a pump gun a lot harder to shoot from a lay out blind just somthing to think about what ever you get just go out and have fun!!!!

You're not far at all from the Larose Forest near Vars. I used to have great success for gouse there.
