It's just a thought, but... Wouldn't it be great if there were a hunting season at Petrie?
I've been going there all the time lately, and I've seen ducks, geese, rock doves (pigeons), sparrows, blackbirds, grouse, deer, a turkey right next to the highway. Someone spotted a coyote last year, and 10-or-so years ago (before Oziles was there) a moose was spotted there.
I know, I know... It's a public park, and it's illegal to discharge a firearm in the City of Ottawa. But it's a nice spot, and they hunt ducks right across the river at McBay.

Not exactly 100% correct. See the schedules at the bottom of the following link. Tells you where you can and cannot discharge a fiream within City of Ottawa boundaries.GuinnessGuy wrote: it's illegal to discharge a firearm in the City of Ottawa

Re: .
It is spelled differently... change the H in "Hunting" to a C. That's what we used to call it... we also had a Catch and Release program...GuinnessGuy wrote:I thought that was more politely called "bird watching"...Seabass81 wrote:Just go to the beach on a 29 degree day in the middle of july, lots of hunting going on !
