You know, if he had just asked, I would have said OK.
But it kinda bugs me that come bow opener, I'll get up early, head out to the stand, what if this fella is already on my stand when I get there?
I bought the stand, I hung the stand, I should be able to use my own stand right?

Leave a bag of fake poo in the stand. Spice it up with some Cumin and cabbage.

See what kind of individual you are dealing with if you find that he is still there despite those counter measures!

I guess you better get up extra early on Friday morning and get there first.

And bring an extra double double from Tim's

Just plain ignorant.

I would try and confront him before hunting season.

I wonder what he would be doing in your stand at this time of year? Is there a bear bait pile around?

I think Luke is onto something re:the bear bait.
Maybe I should just confront him - but not without a gun in my hands.

At least I know the stand will support my weight come Friday.
I'll try to confront him tonight. Wish me luck.

Is it on Crown or Private land?
Perhaps he is also trespassing?

Is it possible to change trees to one close by late in the afternoon the day before the opener. So that if he gets there before you he looks up to find no stand?

I would also call the MNR.. while they might not be able to help it does log a complaint.. just plain rude.. I have a bunch of acreage not far from you and I bought it, improved it, pay taxes on it.. pretty much so I have a place to hunt.. I have had to remove many tree hides.. I can't believe the nerve not to mention the potential for a dangerous situation thinking you have an area to yourself... Have someone with you when /if you confront you have a witness... be careful not worth getting hurt over

Tonight I checked my stand, and caught the bugger red-handed. Didn't bother confronting him, as it looked like he would win the fight.

Took a camera along, took a pic for evidence and high-tailed out of there...
