Duck Hunt

Post by fish and hunt »

Went out yesterday with my dad's buddy at a pond that I hadn't hunted in a few years. Paddling out at 530am, the pond looked alot different than I remember. Set up our decoys (about a dozen geese, a dozen mallards, and two mojo mallards). Not a lot of birds flying this time. Brought home three nice mallards and 1 goose. Bob is currently trying to get used to a new ammo brand and is having trouble figuring out his lead. He says we'd do better if one of these days he'd start hitting something. We have both have better hunts but also agreed that a slow day hunting is better than most days doing anything else.

Thanks, I have to say that that was the nicest woddie drake I have shot. I gave serious consideration to a mount. Shot my first ring neck and my first gadwal on that hunt too.

Beauty drake...amazing colours...I would get a mount of that one for sure.
Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.

Good job guys. I haven't got any ducks yet but have 6 geese so far. I'm going out this Friday night. The way the Senators are playing I know I won't be missing much, lol.
Happy hunting.
Keep your line in the water and there will always be a smile on your face.
