Hard Work and Long Hours Pay Off 2010 Buck

Post by pappy »

I hunted hard this season right from the 1st of October until now. I hunted a few different properties and passed on a few smaller bucks early season. As the season was stretching near the end I was starting to regret my decision of letting the early season bucks pass. Almost every night or morning in the stand I had does in front me, alot of times up to 10-15 at a time. I knew the properties held some nice big boys as my camera showed all the movement at night. I was playing the waiting game and waiting for a buck to finally make a mistake, the other day he did. Ill take this guy on December 23rd after alot of long hours any day...37 yards, grim reaper broadheads hit hit em hard. I actually made a perfect shot right behind the shoulder but it must have hit a bone and exited left and low (as you can see from the pic) as I nicked the gut, but cleaned em up good. Gonna be a long winter until gobbler time!
Hoping that these pics work, never posted a pic before

Bet it was a bit of a run. Very nicely done though. Mid chest shots are a chaser usually... 8)

better then my not getting out this year though. 3 years in a row for me. When does the time come back after having kids??? :x

It's much more important.

Thanks guys....he ran about 200 yards. We gave it a good few hours before looking for him. It was a tough drag out in the dark through some thick bush but well worth the meat.

No matter how many fish I land, it's ones that got away I think about most. :']
