Anyone In On The 'Yote Derby?

Post by cprince »

The 2011 Beast Feast & Coyote Derby looks awfully interesting.

Has any one been? Any one going this year?

Just curious if this is something worth aiming for next year. I was looking for something like this to get me into hunting. Plunking 'yotes would be a great start.

Ooops... got mixed up a little... the web site was only for directions.

Here is the post that I read on another site:
The Baron @ predatorhuntcanada.ca wrote:Here's the general e-mail that was just sent out. There are only 60 tickets, and 36 are already sold so if you want to go please contact me ASAP.

2011 Beast Feast & Coyote Derby

January/29/2011 we will be holding the fourth annual coyote derby at the Grenville Fish and Game Club
(Check out www.grenvillefishandgame.com for directions)
We will have a potluck style game dinner again this year.
(What ever you bring doesn’t have to be wild game)
This event is all about fun and learning
All prizes will be drawn raffle style (everyone gets something)
There will be two category’s Houndsman and callers; the winner of each class gets a plaque to take home and their name on a trophy that returns every year
This is a non profit event; the cost is to cover prizes and other expenses.
If there are two or more people hunting together the person that pulls the trigger is eligible to win
There are only sixty tickets and they are going fast so if you plan on coming get your ticket soon.

Weigh in is at 6:00PM
(at least one of the event the coordinators will be there by 5:30PM)

Tickets $10.00 each and are available from g
Dave Lach (613)802-0302 lach.d@live.com
Darcy Alkerton (613)658-2223
Or Rob Foote (613)561-9161
So there is the story that I know about!

Sounds great TLunge... how did you get in on it?

Myself and Bardern are going to team up and hope for the best... Either way it'll be a good time. Any time spent in the field is time well spent!

I just bought a .243 savage friday woke up saturday turned the dogs loose and the chase was on.The first coyote was lucky made it across 2 concession roads and across the main highway. We caught the dogs and turned them loose again this time I got lucky and seen him coming thru the hardwoods I didn't get a shot but I new where he was going.so I run back to the truck up the road cut thru a field and run to a rock fence.I listened and sure enough the dogs are heading my way...then I se the coyote at around 120 yards running flick the saftey off and....pow ...1 shot 1 kill...the dogs were about 80 yards behind the coyote...My first coyote of 2011.

No matter how many fish I land, it's ones that got away I think about most. :']

Just noticed your question!!!

Here:

Hope this helps... and we get to see some reports!!!

---------------------
There is a photo section of some description on this site... but I find it easy to upload my photos to imagashack.us then follow these steps:

In your post press the "Image" button.

Image

This will result in a tag that will look like this:
Image

This is an image tag.

Next go to the page where you uploaded your picture. For this example I used imageshack.us but you can also do this with any picture that is on the internet, as long as "Hot Linking" was not disabled at the source site. Some use Photobucket, picasa and flickr...

At the up load page, copy the URL that they provide to directly access your uploaded photo:

Image

Paste that link next to the IMG tag in your post:

Image

Then press the IMG button again. This will "Close" the IMG tag... it looks the same as the first one except it has a forward slash "/" in it.

Image

After you have done this, you will have the joy of including a picture in your post like this one I built for the example.

Image

I think that there is a maximum number of pictures per post... I think it might be 6 or 8.. cant remember...

Good luck!

Here is a problem one member ran into explained:

This is how you had it:

Image

It is the spaces between Image whereas it should be ...jpg[/img]

Craig: Do you not have any other pictures you can use for posting pics besides this rotting carcass???? I know it is a step by step you made but come on man...How about a living animal???
Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.
