Ole boss hen sealed the deal

An interesting hunt this afternoon after work. Went to my spot, made a few yelps and waited... just the breeze rustling leaves in reply. After about 1/2 hour, boss hen started yelping... then she went into full frenzy, yelping and cutting, and moving into my set. In the distance a Tom gobbled in reply...
Just when she would shut up for a second, I would give her another cluck on the mouth call, and the ruckus would repeat. Eventually she was 20yds from me, cussing up a storm at my dekes for their poor imitation of her perfect yelps, and all the while, the Tom is moving closer... until finally he was in sight. Fantastic bird, definitely the game was on at that point.
Two fake hens, and one real one, (real yappy too) he approached with total confidence, at full strut. The boss hen poked her way west, with Tom following her. At 30yds I clucked once, his head came up, Boom, lights out. Stats... 9" beard, 3/4' spurs
Was a great hunt, got to enjoy watching him strut for a while, and that ole hen sure helped seal the deal.
