Ducks are addicting

Postby Jason Daoust » Wed Sep 27, 2017 6:17 pm

First year hunting ducks , and they are addicting. Shot my first duck and it was a Northern Shoveller, then I got 3 mallards . And a few more mallards since. I can't wait till the northern ducks start coming down in flocks ! If anyone ever wants to come Shoot me a message . Or if your looking for someone to join you let me know.

I know I'm new around these parts... but I'd love to go.

Are you field hunting or hunting over water?

I've just been going out on the bass boat and laying some burlap on it . I've also found a few nice shore spots

Started going duck hunting with my dad when I was 5 years old. I would get so excited the night before the opener I would be throwing up. Opening morning I would have about 10 layers of clothes on too. Now your swatting mosquitos. My hunting days are behind me though. Given the choice between bass fishing or blasting some ducks, I'll take the fishing. Lol.

Just a personal preference though.

Nice bag. I've shot ducks for decades and never shot a shoveler, nor redhead, or canvasback. Always hopeful though.
