Game camera not responding

Hey guys I have had my camera out the past month or so, when I check it I have maybe 5-6 pictures, all empty screens. You can notice the apples disappearing and see deer tracks out in front but I'm not getting the pictures, I'm wondering if the sensor is loosing its ability to pick up movement or maybe something else, I've checked batteries and it's good there, maybe I have some very elusive deer who can eat on the run, who knows, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I had a similar problem as the weather got cooler I got a lot less pictures, I came to the conclusion that the cold nights would hinder the performance of my alkaline batteries therefore I switched to lithiums and it solved my problem. The camera would show full battery power during the day but I just assumed they would get cold at night and not take any pictures until the day warmed up.

What kind of camera is it? Could depend on what setting you have it on, delay/burst mode etc.... I would also recommend Lithium Ion batteries, a good set should last you months....

I agree with others about the batteries. Use the best you can. Also check and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser.
Several things you can try. First test it by walking in front of it first from farther away and then move closer in successive attempts. Maybe the cam needs to be closer.
If you have sensitivity settings for the pir you can try adjusting them.
Take all the batteries out, then press and hold the power button. Replace with fresh batteries and reset the camera to defaults. Then readjust your settings to what you want.
Go to the website for your cam. Some of them have firmware updates.
Some cams have an internal reset switch. Google your model for problems and fixes.
Or if its just a cheap cam in the first place it could well just be toasted. Hard to say not knowing the model.
Good luck with it.

Cheers
