Shimano was founded in the early 1920's and started off as a company known for precision engineering. Today the company is regarded as one of the forerunners in product innovation and a leader in the industry. For over 80 years, Shimano has concentrated on precision engineering, one step at a time. Creating the most innovative products and processes you can hold in your hand today.

This particular review doesn't concentrate on a single product, but all Shimano products in general. As I use more products, I'll update these reviews to comment specifically on those products I enjoy the best.

Overall score based on experience with the product and other comments received for those we send out to be tried out. Examples, where applicable, of areas we are looking at include, but are not limited to...
> Look & Feel
> Versatility
> Portability
> Strength & Durability
> Material Components
> Colors
> Sizes
> Effectivness (End Result)

FishinBuddy Ratings:

> 2 - Disappointing
> 3 - Not Bad, but requires a few tweaks
> 4 - Fish-Hawk Proven Product
> 5 - Exceeds Expectation

The Review:
When you hear the words "Shimano"....you know they're talking about Fishing gear.

With an eye towards the future, Shimano is heavily involved in youth development around the country with several initiatives. They are also involved in environmental and governmental affairs that help protect the land and sea, and offer a multitude of products for fishing such as reels, rods, and line.

Shimano prides itself on its ability to design and produce fishing tackle that features cutting edge technology such as High Efficiency Gearing (HEG), A-RB, Digital Control, and TC4 Construction. Products such as Rods, Reels, Combos, Tools, Apparel, and much more are at the forefront of what Shimano does for us.

The majority of all tools I currently use are Shimano products. They are strong, durable, and able to withstand the constant pounding and abuse I inflict on them for a day in search of the fish of my lifetime.

For more information on Shimano and their products, visit their website, or ask your local retailer for further information. Many of our Fish-Hawk.Net partners deal in Shimano products. I'm sure they'd love to help you out.

Shimano...there's a tool for every occasion.
