Joco, great timing as I just purchased a small 10 foot kayak from OVCK - actually this one right here - and I have a tech. question.

I have a Humminbird 565 fish finder that I want to alternate back and forth between my canoe and the kayak - is there a good way to temporarily secure the transducer to the floor of the kayak so that it can be removed easily? I'm familiar with the silicone method but I want the flexibility of moving back and forth between the two.

Any suggestions/ideas are welcome.

Won't be long now!

I use and container with a lid that just fits mytransducer on both. I cut out the bottme of the container and silicone it to the bottom of the canoe and kayak. I fill the container with water then just drop in the transsucer. Thats my easy method that i use.

Good Luck,

I use a suction cup mount on the outside of my kayak for the transducer of my poratable finder.

Mine came in the package when I bought it. I have a portable Eagle Cuda 168 which is discontinued.

But the suction cup transducer mount can be ordered from LEI Extras for 15 bucks plus 7.50 for shipping. (still cheaper than buying another transducer)

or

Try Ed at Paddletales in Winchester for Hummingbird products

Didn't they replace it with the Eagle Cuda 300?
That's what CTC says and they are selling.

and canoedude.

my tranducer in my kayaks are not perment at all.

because a lot off time i dont bring it or a trade off kayak or canoes.

wen i use it i just make sher the seection it toutch is very clean and i just put cilicon on the flat part under and opput it on the floor and it work nicely wen fisnish my outhing take it out clean it and that is it.

in my ultimate i dont even put cilicon i put nothing just a bit off water and it stay there and owrk nicely tru the hull.

you could just take a pice off wood and bolt to it the tranducer..at one end and the other end just clip it to the side wit a C-CLMP..use to do this and still have it actualy.

but the cup is nicer..hahaha.
