Has anyone tried using a Kayak paddle in a Canoe? What was the result?

hi.

ok been like 2 years i did not use my canoes but the last 4 outhing out off it i use my kayak paddle and i did love it.

i gues it depend the lenght off your paddle..the widht off your canoes..not all canoe will be easy to doble paddle use...but if you got everything right its a blast love it.

i went a bit faster and great to troll.

one off mycanoe is an old scott adventure..and went great.

try it you will love it.

As Joco said, it will depend on your paddle length, how high your canoe rides in the water and paddle blade size.
Last year I did see two people in a canoe with kayak paddles and without, paddling very fast, they were really moving.

and some canoe are made for doble blade paddles...they are shape for it...i saw a fewarticle on this on some canoe magasine.

ok for some canoe purist they will say no way for a doble paddle canoes..and other will say yes.

try one and you will see.

if you dont have a paddle..mabe rent or borrown some to see..and again deferent lenght etc.
