A Year to Remember

Post by Birdee »

With the year ending tonight I took some time to reflect on my past years fishing success. This year was my first full year of fishing regularly. I probably had 30 to 40 days on the water which was more than I expecting but I had a blast!

Started with Ice fishing at our shack with my best crappie ever at 14.25 inches. We actually just got this one back from our taxidermist and it looks great!

I then went down to SW Ontario to fish for Spring Salmon with a good friend of ours. Thanks Markus.

Came home and hit the Spring Crappies!

Then it was something I'm still not sure I like.. Gar fishing. My best was 48 inches.

Then Bass season opened. Many after work outings paid off. No real big ones but fun!

We had a few great days out on Lake Ontario. Salmon and Rainbows!

My first Carp! Thanks Big-o and Topwater.

Fished Erie for a weekend. Awesome! Thanks Mark and Hoov!

Fall Time came and I did a little bit of Fall Smallmouth fishing. My favorite time of year to fish! Fall Colours.

Then came my favorite trip of the year. Bay of Quinte. I had 3 days down there this year and caught my best ever!

It's been a year that will be tough to beat for me, but I look forward to trying!

Happy New Year Everyone and All the Best to you in '07.

Birdee:
Congrats on a great year. Great fish ! Going to be tough to do better fish wise, but if you're out 30-40 times in new year, there's no doubt you will have just as great a year ! Have a safe and Happy New Year!

Wow, you had a great year birdee :D It takes a lot of time on the water to find fish like those and of that size :) You worked hard and had the chance to fish with some great people  If only RJ could get 'em like that  :)

Thanks for sharing!

With a year and post like that Sistah I'd be betting you're making a tonne of seasoned ol' timers jealously impressed.

Awesome stuff Kim.
