Sept. 9th - Big Walleye on the Ottawa River

Post by TheFishFinder »

Went out in the early morning at Sunrise. Was having trouble fighting the wind, as I am in a kayak. So i decided to go straight to my Walleye hole and cast the day lights out of it. This is what I caught.......There also a video. Click link below! 30 Inches & 8 Lbs she was 8)

HOLY COW! That is one golden pig!! Not cause a controversy here or anything but... did you eat that sucker? I mean the fillets out of an eye like that would feed a family quite handily.... I suppose I am a little more like Cronzy than I care to admit. I am all for eating the fish that are worth eating.

Thanks for sharing TheFishFinder!!!

Actually, no I didn't. I took the lenght & weight a few pictures and put her back in the water. Took a few minutes for her to get her energy back but off she went. I caught it in the ottawa river near orleans, I would not eat anything that comes out of there especially that big and old....No thanks
She's back in the water for someone else to catch!

Nice fish

As for the Cronzy comments - as much as I get tired of him and his shore lunch/coating blather never use a fork , he only eats smaller fish (2 -3 lb walleyes) nothing trophy sized.
