Spring Rainbow Trout Fishing Lake Ontario-Kingston/Napanee Area

Post by jammiran »

Hello everyone. I hope this message finds all of you well.
I was hoping to do some rainbow trout shore fishing this weekend but I don't knowof any decent places.
I'm situated in Ottawa but I'm more than willing to take a drive between Cornwall and Napanee.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jammiran

Not many people will give exact bodies of water, especially for the smaller rainbow trout lakes in Eastern Ontario, as they get overfished easily. I don't fish those lakes so I don't know any good ones. You can check the the FISH ON-line website and search the on it for ones that have rainbow trout. Lots of small lakes west of Ottawa in Zone 18 and 15.

The other option is to fish rivers and streams that flow into Lake Ontario for the "steelhead" rainbow trout that run up those streams and rivers to spawn. You have to go west to at least Kingston area to find any decent stream/river run trout... further west towards GTA even better.

Good luck.

Hello,

Indeed, this sector is quite overloaded in terms of fishermen. I didn't have much opportunity to fish there anyway.
