I just just had my old Minnkota repaired at Hastings Starter and Alternator on hwy 28 south of Bancroft. http://hsabancroft.com/ I believe they also had a Motorguide sign in the window. The work was excellent and the total price was lower than the estimate (even for the hard to find parts I needed) Give them a call and see what they have to say, ask for Peter, he did a great job of getting me running again.

J & S Service Station in Ottawa are authorized Minn Kota Service Center.
You might try giving them a call and ask if they would do work on Motor Guide?
It cost nothing to ask and they are closer to home. Their number is (613) 841-6715
