I have a 702 and really cannot say I want to go any lighter. What do you plan on using the 1 power for?

I have heard the 635cb actually fishes somewhere in between the 684cb and 685cb

The 805cb rm has quite the following and is something I am sure you will enjoy!

If he is there, talk to Andrew Mazeikis about the 701 sf. He found it way to light in action to effectively drop shot and I kind of agree with him. I personally drop shot with the 702sf and find it does the job quite well. I have also heard nothing but good things about the DX702sf finesse (spinning) or the DX742c (casting) as well.

Good luck with your purchases and let us know what you end up with!

I plan on ordering a new dropshot from ED tomorrow. It will be a DX742 spinning rod.

I have the 805CB RM. You will love it. I plan to add the 764CB RM to my arsenal next year.

Drop
Ha!

I have the 764cb rm you will love it. If I go to a 2 power for dropshot the 742 is a better length. Thanks for the reply

I'm also going to a 742sf for drop shot this season and couldn't be happier with my 805cbrm :D

Also very curious to see how the 634cb/635cb compare to the 684cb.

The 701 is basically a panfish rod, i'd go DX702 for a DS rod.

The 634CB is pretty light too, more like a 3 power rod. If you use any larger 1/2 oz jerkbaits get the 635CB.

I have the 765CB and i find it little taxing on the larger DD22 or Deep6 baits, the 805CB would be a nice rod for the larger cranks.

Picked up the dx742 sf and the 805 rm cb.

I looked at the megasbass DS rod but I just don't like the rod - "in the store". May fish different but I can only go on what I know about rods, actions and feel .

The reasoning you didn't like the megabass drop shot rod is the same reason I loved the jerkbait special! I look forward to trying that rod out this season.

As for the 742sf, I look forward to reading your reviews!

I can't comment on the DX742 SF but the 805CB RM is one heck of a great cranking rod.
I not only use it for deep cranks but I also use it for throwing big shallow running cranks and lighter swim baits.
If you like cranking, I would highly recommend that your next purchase be the 764CB RM.
