Advice Sought: Getting set up with a good tackle box system

Just what the title says....anything and everything related to Rods, Reels, Terminal Tackle, Plastics, what others are using, what works, what doesn't work, and anything else you want to talk about regarding equipment.

Gents,
Thanks for input. Definitely will look to do the trek to the storied Paddletales. I prefer a shop where the owner is about and guys that know what they're talking about over the big box operations.
This Thursday evening fixation: is there something special going on or just a convergence cause they're open later?
This site is a great resource. Sure some good advice to be had. Some good wit too. I am going to ensure me bride doesn't hack my Fish-Hawk password!
Cheers,
Howie

Everyday is a convergence at Paddletales.
You will find that his prices are very very very close to the Big Box Operations.
The information you get is priceless.
Sometimes you get to meet Big Jim and RJ and if you are really lucky, I'll be there also. 8)

Make the trek and I guarantee you will want to go back.
The information alone is well worth the trip.

Ed and Sandie are top notch people.

Current inventory only. No layaways and no further discounts

Yet another reason to go check this place out! Great price for these rods and possibly a hint at what we can expect at ICAST...

Thursday nights are officially called "The Water's Stiff and I Can't Go Bass Fishing Club". In reality it's just a bunch of guys and gals munching on snacks, drinking pop,(both free) and talking fishing. It can be a great exchange of ideas, it can be a roast, and it's always fun. All are welcome.

I purchased a Plano 3700 Guide Series tackle bag this off-season and I have been very happy with it. It holds upwards of 7 plano 3700-sized tackle trays (says 6 but you can fit 7 trust me) and it also has a moulded top with a latch so you can keep one of the trays on top of your tackle bag for easier access. This is great, for example, if you're running crankbaits you can easily just keep your crankin' tray on the top moulded section of your box.

So far I have really liked this set-up. Even better, I took my old Plano soft-sider I had been using previously and have turned it into my "plastics" bag, so now I have all my hard-baits in one and all my soft baits in another. It helps me keep everything together. When I go on the water, I just pick and choose which 3700 trays i need for that day, and organize them all together into my Guide Series bag, and i'm on my way.

So, long story short, spend the 80 bucks or whatever it is and go pick yourself up a Plano 3700 Guide Series bag. You will not be disappointed.
