St. Croix Mojo Bass

Post by FishToLive »

Looking for a new St. Croix Mojo Bass rod. 7' med/heavy. MBS70MHF.

No stock at Sail or Technique Chasse et Peche.
LeBaron doesn't carry St. Croix.

Any idea where I can find one?

Try the Pronature in Masson, the old Fern/Sport.
They've got a huge selection when it comes to the Mojo Bass St-croix series.

Tacklewarehouse.com has them in stock by the looks of it and if you don't mind ordering online.

I have made a few orders for smaller items and had them shipped to a warehouse in ogdensburg where I picked them up. No issues whatsever with ordering from them. My wife bought a rod there a few years back and it ended up costing more once she factored in shipping to our door so I do try to by local but picking the items up in the states gets rid of the brokerage fees and saves a few bucks if you live close enough.

If you are looking for a Medium Heavy 7" spinnning rod there are others that you may find interesting, if you are not dead set on a St Croix.

The 13 Omen series has been getting very good reviews - (some of our higher end rod junkies have been looking at them as well).
I know sail carries them but have no idea if they have them in stock:

13 Fishing Omen Black Spinning Rod 7'1" Med Hvy about $100.00

Shimano Compre Spinning Rod 7'2" Med Hvy About 125.00$ (sail , Lebaron, Paddletails)
You might consider a 7" Crucial Medium Fast (Ed @ Paddletales is discounting them)
Rapala Concept Ti Series NT85SP71MH1 Spinning 7’1” MedHvy

Allan's Bait Tackle in Pembroke is a St.Croix dealer. Might have what you're looking for if you ever make it out that way. Jon

That 7'1" MH 13 Omen Black is a REALLY nice rod. I own two. Plus the 7'6" MH as well. All are very capable rods and have excellent tips for working soft plastics and enough backbone to haul from moderate slop.

What are you intending to use the rod for?
I'd rate the 7'1" MH Omen Black as a great all-purpose largemouth bass rod, with a tendency towards light texas rigs, weightless 5" senkos or beavers, and spinnerbaits.

My turn
Kistler Canada has a nice lineup of rods and ships to your door in a few days of order you can get a Pro Series 7"MH for $140 plus shipping($20) tell them Chris Gates sent you and get 10% off your rod price. They are also lighter than the Mojos http://www.kistlerrodscanada.com

Wow, so much info in a short time....

Most of my rods a G.Loomis but I heard so much good things about St.Croix so I wanted to give them a try.

Dobyns is also on my radar but the price of the Mojo at 109 is very good for the intended use and frequency.

When I was at Paddletales, I didn't even look at the Dobyns cause I would have "had" to buy one (or 2)....

Thanks for all the info...
