Just what the title says....anything and everything related to Rods, Reels, Terminal Tackle, Plastics, what others are using, what works, what doesn't work, and anything else you want to talk about regarding equipment.

Suggestion to mate my stradic Ci4 to

Post by Kerrazy »

Bought a rapala r-type rod last year when I got the reel and have been pleased with it. But.... Last season my second last guide from the tip broke. The ring holding the guide in place broke. I epoxied it last year, and it let go yesterday. So I think I will replace the rod all together. Not quite sure yet though.
Any suggestions?
Stradic is a 3000f

Current rod is a r-type rt455p71mh2

What technique do you plan to use it for?

I will be using it as an all around rod likely. It is my only high end spinning reel so far. I have a couple less expensive ones but this is one of my go to set ups for casting crank baits and playing with sencos in the weed beds too. I am too amateur yet to figure if I want it for a finesse set up.
To fill in more info.
I have an Abu 2nd gen Revo. And a couple other baitcaster set ups.
The stradic has power pro 30lb on it currently I believe.

Sorry if I have not answered with anything useful. Again. Just an amateur.

I have a Dobyns Champion 704 that is a great rod. Does everything very well. Also, I'm sure you already read it but Ed has the Shimano Crucials on sale. Either one would match nicely with your CI4. Jon

Dobyns 703, Shimano Crucial 72m or mhf (on sale as someone mentioned), G Loomis GL2 852s would all pair up well with that reel and serve the purpose you are using it for.

Brace yourself Ed. Looks like I am heading your way. I actually was going to slip in Thursday night this week, but kids are both under the weather. I may take a crack at next Thursday.
