I have always dropped my reels at Paddletales, perhaps call Ed and see if you can ship them.

There are a couple people who do it as board sponsors on other sites but they are all in the states as far as I can tell.

I have always just brought them into Paddletales to be shipped out as well. You can send it directly to Lew's as well but again, you are sending it to the states.

Lew's would't not take care of you because you live in Canada. That makes no sense. Contact Mav, he's dealt with Lew's for repairs/upgrades I believe.

What repairs need to be done? It's really not that hard to open a reel and clean/repair them. Just go slow and lay everything out in order you take it apart.

What is broken on the reel? What needs to be done? Let us know?
If you are afraid to open the reel, we might be able to help you with that also.
As Biggs said, it's really not that difficult.

I had dealt with Lew's quite a few times when I owned their reels.
Customer service is top notch and one of the best I've seen.

Contact Amber in regards to promo gear, but these cards usually only apply to the States, same with Abu and all other promo cards.
You might have a minimal fee to dish out, here's her info,

Amber Derks
Customer Service Team
Lew’s Fishing Tackle / Do Outdoors Inc.
Office: 877-470-LEWS (5397)
Email aderks@dooutdoors.net

In regards to repairs, I had a few reels sent in for lower gear ratio swaps, they changed the handle, housing collar on which it says the ratio, and obviously the gears.
I would suggest ordering the parts and finding someone local if you're not comfortable operating on your reels, but then again, what repairs are we talking about?

As for the parts needed, contact Rick,

Rick Collins

FAX 417-881-5387

Hope this helps, keep us posted!

It feels like the gears are grinding a bit every time you turn the handle. There is also this clicking sound in one of them

A new gear set and pinion will probably get tid of the grinding.

Had I my lews team gold make that ticking sound as well. The level wind gear needed to be greased and I had the cast control knob to tight.

try applying some grease to your level wind and lossenkng off the CC knob. If that doesn't work, I'm sure you will get other responses you can try.

Drake: I send Lew's reels to Shiman au Peche on Henri Bourassa blvd in Ville St Laurent. Can't remember the number or postal code off the top of my head but you should be able to google it. He is an authorized Lew's repair center.

It could be that a gear is broken or it might need a good cleaning.
The reel needs to be opened up to determine what the problem is.
Only then will you know if parts are needed or just a good cleaning.

Hey Drake,

I'm curious. Did you contact them? Did you get the reels checked?

I tried emailing the the shop in Quebec but it appears that isn't their email. I'm going to try to get a hold of Lew's and maybe they have someone in Ontario who does repairs
