Had a mishap with one of my St. Croix rods this past weekend. Looks like they have a pretty decent return policy (even if broken by stupidity :) ) Will see how it goes.

For Loomis or Dobyns, after I inpect the rod, If there is any question of warranty or expedited in my mind, you pay the expedited fee. The rod will get sent back. If they warranty it, you get your fee back. You have to trust me on this. I've had 2 cases when customers got the fee back (guess where they spent it ) In most cases it's pretty clear. I agree with RJ. The instances of workmanship problems are extremely rare. The vast majority of rods that are broken are from some type of misuse.

The expedited program in my mind at least is outstanding though.

Totally is Ed

This is why when I buy rods (new or used) I go by the warranty or expedite system.

In my case it was pay a little for a pricey rod ($259 US)

Gives me more to buy more rods muahahahahahaha

Watch this video...

Still think you can break a rod on a fish? No but you can boat flipping them poorly and getting a nick somewhere along the blank from dropping something on them.

I've broken one rod while fishing, it was a flippin stick that broke exactly where I stored my 1 oz jig against the blank while not in use. Not a coincidence.
