Thank you RJ and GLoomis

Post by Jimmy_1 »

After a dental appt this am I headed over to LeBarons with a broken Bronzeback rod.

RJ was in the store and was able to put me in touch with a Loomis guy in the store (thanks again RJ).

I was given a #. Called it, gave em details and visa #
New rod is on its way (replacement charge).

Just send yhe sawn off handle back.

Th8s is why quality rods are worth the price. Small fee, pricey rod replaced..

Exactly why I could never go with another rod other than Gloomis! I had the same issue with one of my GLX models and Ed from paddletales Was most helpful with replacing it! Dealing with great quality rods along with great quality customer service such as Paddletales leaves you walking away with the urge to come back!

The reason I chose Dobyns is very similar. The warranty is great, if the issue is manufacturers defect, ship the rod to them so they can verify and a new rod comes to you. All you pay is shipping. If you accidentally broke it, they cover you with the "no questions asked" warranty which has a different price per rod line.

Now that Loomis offers their expediter service again, I would imagine more people may consider Loomis.

Lucked out in being there when you were in Jimmy. Having Lee there was an extra bonus for ya.

Glad it all worked out.

It's one thing to get great customer service from a company, it's a whole other ball game when you get it from the reps,There are few out there that go above and beyond. Hat's off to the folks from Shimano/Loomis

Even Better Ed!

I didn't realize you were could verify the rod for manufacturers defect. I thought they had to go back to the manufacturer for that!

Awesome!

Customer service is a top priority when buying a rod, especially when rods are $200+.

For Dobyns I knew that Ed could complete the No questions asked portion for your own stupidity but no, I did not realize he was authorized to complete a Manufacturers defect review and swap the rod out there instead of sending it back to them and waiting for a replacement.

And FYI, I know what you are really talking about...

Guys

Expedited and Warranty replacement are 2 different things.

Expedited is where you pay a replacement fee and get a new rod "no questions asked". In my case Loomis wants me to saw off part of the blank and mail back as proof. Otherwise guys would be buying NRXs this way..lol....No proof and they bill your credit card for face value (market) of the rod.

Warranty is different. You have to send it back and they inspect it and see if it is a defect issue etc.

Bottom line is I get a new rod to replace my favorite tube/grub rod for smallmouth...that old one took a beating and landed some real dandies!

And that is why I was surprised.

Ed is saying he can do it in store instead of sending it to Loomis/Dobyn's.

Yes of course

He will just send in the broken rod and get re-imbursed by Loomis is all.

Reality is this. Veeeeeeeeeeeery few rods are actually manufacturers defect. It's been ridiculously abused for years.
