TLSea and I headed out for an afternoon on the Ottawa by Aylmer again today and hit the same spot as friday. We ended up having a great day even with the wind and bugs.
Strted casting spinner baits and cranks in 3ft of water and had a couple of big pike follow. TLSea had one that was close to 40" but no takers. We only hit a couple of small pike in the area 22" and 25'' so we moved onto a sand flat to try for walleye. Didn't take long to see one. We were dragging a jig and minnow when there it was "FISH ON". Nice little 21" fish for starters.
We changed up and started throwing spinner baits again and TLSea had a fish hit hard right by the boat. Another nice 21".
At about 4 pm, 4 other boats showed up into our area so we moved closer to shore and started casting rattle spots and it paided off with this 23" walleye. Sorry for the bad hair, TLSea needed a hat to keep the hair out of her eyes
We boated a couple other small pike and then headed for home, all in all a great day.
Cheers

Right on JP - sounds like you had some decent luck.
I went out Saturday morning from 10 - 12 and got skunked. Im fishing from shore though. My kayak doesnt manage very well, especially in the current
I worked a jig and black rubber leech, bumping bottom but with the wind and chop it was hard to get it out from the rubble on shore.
Where abouts were you?
Ah well. Next time!

Bradford and I met up for an evenning of walleye and pike fishing in Aylmer tonight and the weather didn't cooperate as planned. We hit the water by 3:45pm from the Aylmer marina and headed out in search of a walleye or crappie.
We started throwing jerkbaits and spinnerbaits in the shallows and hit small pike about 20" or so, but nothing else in that strech. We moved into a bay away from the wind and spitting rain and hit a 21" walleye on a rattle trap right away. the rain started to really come down and niether of us were smart enough to pack rain gear , I got soaked. After the rain ended I hit another walleye this time 22" and then nothing. We were both cold and wet and were going to call it a day when Brad had a hit dragging a minnow. Nice 15 1/4" walleye boated. Then a 15" pike for him on the same rig.
We ended off the day with 3 walleye 15 1/4", 21" and 22" and 3 pike between 15" and 23". Good day for such crappy weather.
It was nice to phitty out fishing from shore and he was into fish as well.
Sorry forgot the camera, but next time.
Cheers
