This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I agree. Lake Clear is my destination of choice now, and will be for next summer. Awesome fishery there, and a great campground too.

Every person who has reported on this board about Lake Clear has rave reviews for it.

I just spent 30 mins checking out the resort web site, looks awesome with good prices,I just bought a new 22 foot travel trailer so this sounds great for next spring or even this yr if camping is still allowed,....nice lake with a nice selection of different species of fish to go for, nice attractions nearby as well...Im ready to go now....lol

just curious, what did you guys catch your pickerel on?
what is lakes depth?
and size of the lake?

From Port Perry, it sounds like a 5 hour drive according to google maps.

The website (omresort.ca) also has a hydrographical map of the lake. the web page with the link says it's 6 miles long, 1.5 miles wide, and depths reach 140 feet.

Enjoy yourself if you drive up for the visit.

Legend,

We caught most of our Walleye on the tubes we fished for Smallies and three inch twister tails. Natural colors worked best in the clear water. Most people fished after dark for the Walleye, but we caught a lot before dark and were just too tired after full days of hooksets 8) . The fish don't jump in the boat on this lake, but when you find the pattern, depth, and locations you won't be disappointed.

Tight Lines,

Tip Up,

Post pics and a report so Slop & I can relive the experience through your report! I hope you can get some weather where the wind is down a bit as the lake can get a serious chop that isn't too friendly to small aluminum boats.

FYI... I think the bite will be better for you as the water has cooled even more!

I've stayed at the campground (Opeongo Mountain Resort - www.omresort.ca) many times, going on 5 years in a row now. This year was the only year that I really had any success... I can't really comment on the early summer, haven't been there at the time...
