First Steelhead
Hi Guys,
After about 20 trips out fly fishing for steelhead I finally caught my first one. And on a fly i tied myself!
i was only able to get a crappy cell phone picture but i haven't seen too many pictures on here lately so i will share (also known as bragging).
I was using my brand spanking new St.Croix Avid 6wt and Pflueger trion reel so i was a little under gunned but the reel was super smooth and the rod casts like a dream.
anyway, thanks for reading

Thanks Everyone for the responses.
I was pretty pumped.
The fly i was using fell victim to what i think was a maple tree shortly after i landed that fish. fly fishing in small rivers has its consequences.
i've tied a few more so i should be okay for next time out. hopefully this is the start of a fish catching trend...
