this is .
take like 3 to 5 min to see one page.
this is starting to get to me.
mabe the probleme could be resolve.start a new site wit a new provider.
all reason are good....but people just can handle this stuff anymore.
hope to see some result after a cople years like that.
sadly its not funny for bobber.but it sher is not at all for us...time is something we can afford to loos waiting life is to short to wait....on a computer...wait to see by tip up to go down is ok but wait for a page .nope..
bobber.just guive up in that provider.there just not worth it..you have great people.and you dont want to losse them for that reason.

Hello All,
I hate to say it, but this site is going the way of the dinosaurs in terms of it's speed.
I have high speed and it is painfully slow - can't imagine what it is like for those on dial-up!
50% of the time it takes forever for a page to load, if it does at all, and at that point I just click off and head to another site. Sadly, this will become the common route for many members if nothing is done.
I also don't know why the site logs you out on a regular occurence?
In a funny twist of fate, I couldn't even get past the main forum page last night to post a message to how slow the site is on this thread! Ironic?
Bobber - I know you work tremendously hard on this site, and I know for the most part it's for the love of it and not the money. And I'm not an IT guy, so I don't know what is involved. But, this problem has been around for years now. Is it not time we made the switch to a server that is more secure and doesn't pose these everyday problems?
With all the technical problems we have with the current server, I don't even know how a company like that is even in business. I certainly wouldn't give them my money....
I don't believe this problem is going to be solved by doing what you're doing. Sadly, if something isn't done, membership numbers and the amount of posters is going to dwindle significantly.
Long time members know the issues by now, and for the most part, stick around. New members will just throw their arms in the air and say the site is not worth their time - not something we want...
Anyways, just my 2-cents worth.
Here's looking forward to a doable solution.
Good Fishing,
Justin
