CANOE QUESTION

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

hey todd and kingston-mike. please find out where you got that information and please post it here.
A "Pleasure Craft License" does not equate Operators Card, but from how they've written it, I can see that if I want to use a trolling motor on my canoe on September 15 I'll need the Operators Card. That sucks, because my needs won't go beyond that.

From http://www.boaterexam.com/canada/faq_rules-en.aspx

"As of September 15, 2009 all boaters will be required to have the Pleasure Craft Operator Card in order to operate a powered watercraft. There is no grandfather clause or age exemption – this law applies to all boaters. Powered watercraft includes watercraft fitted with any size motor – even a trolling motor. "[/b]

Talked to the guys at the carp show and they told me, you need one even for an electric motor on a canoe. Proly not because of speed but operation around surrounding boats and general water saftey.
