Rope lure for gar.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Dudes...

I've seen the rope used.....it will never hurt a fish and surprisingly easy to get out with minimal effort.

I don't use it.....there is no vicious strike that I love about the Gar when using rope.....though it will work.

As far as what people think about it.....does it matter?.....and the day we should start worrying about the fly fishing fraternity is a long way away at my house.....

but the good rope would be ok i gues.

but there other methiod that work to.

anyway use what you want and have fun.

comon sens is the way to go in everything anyway.

just bring a gar rope report

the prob i was talking about is the tangling.

I agree with MLR. I don't think that using rope will hurt them in anyway.

My 2 cents!!!

what about in survival mode.

and you have to use the wishing bone (as a hook)of the chiken you just killed to catch a fish. and your own darn shoe lace as line and a piece of twig as a rod ?

then what ???

After that, you resort to cannibalism and cut up your fishing buddy for shore lunch

ok, then tie on a bare #10 hook six inches ahead of the rope.

MLR wrote:Lets get realistic, if any of us were really concerned about hurting fish in any way shape or form, none of us would be fishing with or without hooks, we would just leave them alone completely.

At any time you catch a fish, it puts undue stress on them and guess what, they get over it. So if you have a problem with using rope for fishing gar pike. GET OVER IT.
