Trying to find info on two lakes

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Sorry Guys, I confused Norway with Norcan Lake. However, the boat launchs remain the same. Must be able to navigate through the rapids after Burnstown.

So it turns out this lake was really a little swamp on the property about the size of a puddle. Well good one Mr. Client...you think that was funny wait till your next renewal and we will see who's laughing last...

I can read the print size just fine, what confuses the he!! outta
me is what those last 2 sentences have with regard to relevance
as to what I had commented on???!!! :? :?

Firstly, Norway Lake doesn't connect to the Madawaska River in Springtown, Stewartville, or anywhere else that I'm aware of.
Secondly, Norcan Lake is 20 miles west of Burnstown, so what does navigating the rapids west of Burnstown have to do with anything?? :?

I know the geography of the area quite well, I've fished Norcan Lake & the stretch of the Madawaska between Mountain Chute & Barrett Chute dams,
and I love those bodies of water. :D 8)
I was simply stating my desire to try Norway & Hurd's Lakes, and I'm quite aware of their locations, just wondering about possible access points. :D

OK, there are two launches, right? If you launch your boat either at Springtown or above near Burnstown you still have to travel up the river to Norway lake right? There are shallow rapids before you get to the entrance to the lake, right? So that means
however, the boat launches remain the same. Must be able to navigate through the rapids after Burnstown.
Can you not access Norway from the Madawaska?

Forget Norcan,
Sorry Guys, I confused Norway with Norcan Lake.
I hope this clarifies my intention.

Daner, you are correct. If you launch at Springtown, and go southwest on the river about 5km, just before you hit the dam at Calabogie, portage your boat on your back northwest about 4km. BE CAREFUL, look both ways when you cross the 508 so you don't get smacked by a car, and stick to the side of Murphy Road, heading northwest again about 4-5km, and you'll hit Norway lake with its 500 cottages on it. :P
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Norway lake is close to the Madawaska river, but its on the northside.

I think you've mistaken Norway lake for Balmer lake, or the other one just East of it that always has people casting above the culvert which links Madawaska river to whatever the heck this lake is called, I forget. Norway is about 5km Northwest of that culvert, but I think the confusion comes from Norway Lake Rd which is on the right just past Springtown on the 508, and passes between that lake and Balmer, and ultimately ends either Southside or Eastside around Norway lake.

Of course!!! :o :o I neglected to factor in the "portage" option!

I think everyone has the geography figured out now,
the 'lake' on the north side of the Springtown culvert
doesn't have any name that I'm aware of, it's just
another 'arm' off the mighty Madawaska caused
by damming & flooding. 8)

I haven't personally tried it, but apparently some
pretty decent fish are caught fishing off that culvert.

And that nameless lake / extension of the Madawaska you are refering to is the exactly where I was making reference to 30 acres of land being forsale.
