What is your Tackle Box?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I have what is likely a cheap one ... brand is "tackle logic" ... you carry it like a suitcase and there are 4 compartments ... two on the outside of the box which are see thru and then 2 on the inside of each side ... I think this is a fairly typical box for the average fisherman ... it holds all the stuff i usually need and if you jam the stuff in just right ... it will hold a can of beer ... in theory of course ...

Over the years I've used many, but settled finally on...
1) Large Soft tackle bag with 4 trays of tackle - Hard Baits, Spoons, Jigs
2) Large Soft tackle bag with 4 trays of tackle - Worms, frogs, minnows
3) Small soft tackle bag with 4 trays - used for ice fishing and quick trips

I have a total of 9 trays

-Walleye tray (jigheads, jigging spoons, stinger hooks, pickerel rigs, grubs + spinner organizer)
-spinnerbait tray
-crankbait tray
-soft plastic tray (tubes, senkos)
-frog tray (scums, cane toads and 3/0 hooks)
-topwater tray (buzzbaits, poppers, jitterbug)
-bass stuff tray (worm hooks and bullet weights mostly)
-sinker tray (splitshots, bell sinkers, spinner sinkers, lindy sinkers)
- spoon tray

6 of these are in my Plano box (the real big model at Canadian Tire) also a few bags of senkos and other random stuff crammed in the upper compartment. The 2 other trays (sinkers and bass stuff) are usually stowed in the boat.

Usually a CT, Lebaron's or sports action bags lying around in the boat too.

And I still can't get consistent largemouth on the Ottawa!

Not that anyone would drink beer while on the water :-)

I have a plano tower-type box with removal trays that stays in the boat, and a gym bag to hold all the plastics. Depending on where and what I'm fishing I swap out the trays to hold the tackle I think I'll need.

Best thing I like about it is it has a flip-up ready use stowage for a few frequently used items like spare hooks, drop-shot weights, swivels, tube weights, line clippers (and my lighter  ).
There are few problems in life which can not be solved with a well-placed, high-explosive projectile.

I picked up one of those BPS bags that holds 7 large Planos.

1-Cranks
2-Hooks,Weights,Title Shots,Terminal Tackle
3-FrogsnJigs
4-Tubes
5-Beavers and Creatures
6-Jerkbaits
7- Spinnerbaits

I also carry one of those small Plano bags full with additional plastics and back-ups for the ones that are already in the Planos.

Works like a charm for me.....

And that's not counting carp gear??

I have a plano hard box sitting empty save for a few spoons in my furnace room. Currently, using the OFAH (plano) soft bag I got free a couple years ago with 6 plano trays that are over full. Probably should get a bigger one soon :) Also using one of two shimano bait bags that I have that are jammed with plastics. The other one is sitting empty at the moment. (Thanks renegade bass!!)

I use hard plastic cases, I dont know what there called but there made by plano, they fit the big lures in them. And then i just put them in the bass pro shops extreme boat bag. I have a rain suit in the boat bag as well, and the best thing about it is that the boat bag is waterproof.

I use the front left storage compartment in the LUND... I have a pile of Plano boxes and two falcon boxes...

My go-to has consistently been soft plastic minnows/Shad. I have a soft sided bag full of various makes of these but I prefer gulp alive or yum... Yum for searching cause they stand up better, yum for when I think I'm dialed in cause I think they catch more fish..

I want to find a pair of good boxes for terminal tackle... But no rush, what I have is working.

1 box for all plastics and jigs, bobbers for Bass, Pickerel etc...
example:
http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/5 ... ?locale=en

1 large box for all hardware and plugs, spoons etc...
Example but much bigger where it slides open at both ends leaving the center open:
http://www.shoptoit.ca/plano-four-drawe ... /11448189/

1 flat box for big Pike and Muskie plugs and lures etc...
Example:
http://www.shoptoit.ca/plano-custom-div ... /11448185/

I bag with compartments for trout only.
example:
http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/5 ... ?locale=en

I carry the large box everywhere if I am going away for a while, with any of the other boxes.

You should also have a spare large enough to mix depending on the purpose and the hunt!

This year I have been using a Nash Midi Carp Carryall.
Image

The bag is large enough for all my spods, spombs, buzzers, marker floats, rig bits, several fox boxes also fit nicely in this bag. Can also fit loads of PVA, boilies, pop ups, catapults, throwing sticks, method feeder and mix as well as pellets.

Best carp fishing bag I could find :)

Although, I try to bring as little as possible in the boat......which has been really difficult. Normally I end up with one Rubbermaid tote full of stuff.
