$100 guided trip - Little Quinte

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

$100 guided trip - Little Quinte

Post by Yannick Loranger »

There's a spot near Wendover that I call Little Quinte. The vast majority of the bigger walleye I've iced have come from this area. On Saturday March 1st, I will be putting on another $100 trip to this very spot. Everything included but the fishing license, we get fish or the trip is free. 9am - sunset.

Please limit your posts to this thread to the trip being offered.

Discussions about regs and sanctuaries can be had in other threads.

that's garbage, all the discussion that was deleted was in regards to this trip.

Fish Sanctuary/Regs Near Wendover Discussion

I don't delete too much... cant stand it. I tend to let people discuss as much as possible if I personally agree or not.

Is it just me or are those 'eyes' coming out of the Ottawa River the illest looking fish you've ever seen? that waterway is a 'urnal' at best, I wouldn't eat anything from it

has anyone seen any pollution reports

Murky water does that. These fish are coming out of the Nation which is even murkier. The palest fish have actually been on Lake Abitibi near Timmins. It's not a reflections of their health.

There is a pollution report, it is called the Guide to Eating Ontario Sport Fish.

This is a ministry publication.

The Nation states no walleye restrictions on eating them under 22in for either women/children or men.
22-24in 4 meals per month for men, 0 for women/children
24-26in 4 meals per month for men, 0 for women/children
26-28in 2 meals per mongh for men, 0 for women/children
Over 28in there is no recommendation.

Think about it, people rave about lancaster perch which takes all the pollution from the great lakes, why not the Ottawa or the Nation?

Yan and I might be diametrically opposed on the issue of the fish sanctuary on the nation
but one thing I will completely support him on is this: as "dirty" as the water is, none of the pollutants save mercury gets into the flesh of the fish. They pass through the digestive track completely and ARE NOT ABSORBED into the meat. Fish in the ottawa are fine to eat. If you can't get your head around that, you're missing out on some nice filets.

And food for thought.... The cows, pigs, chickens you don't think twice about eating mostly come from food lots where one animal is jammed up on top of the other while standing around in, sleeping in, rolling in and eating in piles crap and pee pee sometimes a foot thick. But you"re worried about fish?

I drove threw commercial farms in the states near seatle when I lived in Vancouver and I can tell you the smell and how sick the animals look made me go vegetarian for the better part of 10 years...... Also the antibiotics and hormones that they give them is a hole other story.........
